How many calories are you actually burning?

Ever wonder how many calories you were burning while participating in certain activities? Find out with the Activity Calorie Calculator. By entering your weight and the duration of participation, it will show you how many calories you burn.

According to this calculator, I burn 177 calories for each hour of pool I play. Apparently, that’s equivalent to stretching (mild, hatha yoga), a 30 minute walk, playing catch football or baseball, watering plants by hand (as opposed to???), applying seed or fertilizer to the garden, cleaning (light dusting, straightening up, taking out the trash, etc.), repairing shoes (really???), or operating heavy equipment (Wow!). Interesting… I’ll have to try out some of those other activities for an hour the next time I can’t make it to a pool table.

I also learned I could burn more calories welding (212), doing electrical work (248), or arresting someone (283).

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?Actually, who are you not to be?You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine,we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
Read by Nelson Mandela at his inauguration in 1994.Original writing of Marianne Williamson, in her book,A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of "A Course in Miracles."Popularized in the movie "Coach Carter".

-----------------------------------

If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours. He will put some things behind, will pass an invisible boundary; new, universal, and more liberal lawswill begin to establish themselves around and within him; or old laws will be expanded and interpreted in his favor in a more liberal sense, and he will live with the license of a higher order of beings.
Henry David Thoreau

Pho-ba Fortune Telling...

I recently received a Phortune Tellers link (Thanks, Bob!) where you submit a picture of the boba floating in your tea or the noodles in your bowl to have your boba or pho fortunes told. So, my friends and I thought we would check it out. Here are the results:

John
PHO Fortune:
There are confusing times ahead for you. Once this period is past, you will notice symmetry more than usual in the world around you. Someone wearing yellow will pay you a compliment soon, but be aware that they have less than pure motives in doing so. The number six will come into play shortly. Hhhhmmmm... Very interesting...

BOBA Fortune:
Star Connection: AlbaliSubatomic
Connection: charm quark
Lucky Color: cyan
Water, water everywhere, and you do need to drink. Take in what's happening around you as much as you can for the next few days - your mind needs a refreshing dose of sights and sounds and smells and tastes. Your lucky color, cyan, is also the "anti-red" - so be on the lookout for any red menace around you ;) Oh no! Does that include me???

Lenny
PHO Fortune:
The week ahead will be a jumble of activity, but if you can keep others from distracting you, you will pull everything together nicely. Someone who admires you will try to let you know - be on the lookout. The color orange will come into play. Watch for the number 14. Was this Broncos related?

BOBA Fortune:
He did not have boba on this evening...

Matt
PHO Fortune:
You will soon break away from a situation where you previously felt stuck. A missed appointment is inevitable, but will not have any lasting repercussion. Look closely at new issues that arise - they are deeper than they first appear. Wear pink within the next few days, and you might be pleasantly surprised. Oops, this was received on Saturday. I'm a little late...

BOBA Fortune:
Star Connection: Chort (Theta Leo)
Connection: electron
Lucky Color: green
Strong chemistry will turn up where you least expect it. Move slowly and plan, but when you do pounce, be sure you are following your gut feelings or you will miss the point entirely. Something small leads to something new, if you watch and follow closely. Get outside, breathe plenty of fresh air this week. And, return from a trip to Florida.

Mike
PHO Fortune:
Temptation! Many new and exciting things are set to take place in your life soon. Ooh! What could they be?! Enjoy! Indulge! Have fun - but don't let them crowd out entirely present activities, people and responsibilities. To do so risks alienation from those you consider friends. Wear something green next week, and be on the lookout for your lucky number: 790. Pho 790???

BOBA Fortune:
Star Connection: Algieba
Connection: down quark
Lucky Color: blue
You're thinking about stuff but you also need to follow-through. Make your move, be bold. You need a red shift, some fast moves, some speeding up this week. Luckily, you've got the moxie to make it happen. Moxie, baby! Down and the blue is a combo you should shake off as quick as you can.

Me
PHO Fortune:
A twisty tale the noodles spin. But in the end, the turns all balance out and the tangles fall free. This year the ups will balance the downs, be flat; unless you watch for the Dog (Vegas???) and follow trust and follow his path -you will find yourself at a pleasant destination. New people will all present new opportunities, if you listen closely. Already have...

BOBA Fortune:
Star Connection: Alderbaran
Connection: down quark
Lucky Color: green
Follow and take advisement from the strong women in your life. Especially coupled with Alderbaran (Who???), a down quark indicates it might be good to lay low for a while and plan your next move carefully. If you get tea again this week, put your preferences aside and order exactly what the person before you ordered for a new experience. Oh no! I just had it last night...

Anyway, enjoy life & check out Phortune-Tellers for your own Boba Fate, Noodle Reading, I Ching, or Fortune Cookie fortunes.
