Happy Halloweeny!!!
I just got back from Houston. I'm pretty exhausted (mentally and physically) so I'll blog more later but I just wanted to leave you with this:
Chaddie sent it to me. My high score is a 230! I missed the fifth word, ABRACADABRA. Wow...
Anyway, enjoy and have a great & safe halloween!!!
Naughty or Nice...
Chaddie sent a link for Santa's Nice-o-Meter and luckily, even though I have not been blogging as regularly, I am still on Santa's "nice" list. SWEET!
It said: Samm Diep - Still very much on nice list, but must continue good behavior. Should eat more vegetables instead of junk food. Was very polite last Thursday! When doing chores, needs to do them as well as possible. Often exhibits good behavior.
Now, how did he know?!
I'm sleepy... Think I'm going to bed now. Have an early day of practice tomorrow and I leave Friday morning for a tourney in Houston. I'll be back Monday.
Oh! Some good news! Found a brand new
Magic Bullet on
CraigsList for only 25 bucks! Even just the base alone on
Ebay was at least $40 w/ shipping. I'm so happy!!!
Draw a pig!
No. Not draw like a pig.
DRAW A PIG - Personality Test!
I don't know if it really works, but my answers were pretty accurate except for the part about "caring little for details." Or do I???
Anyway, try it for yourself!
Boo!
What do you think of this costume for Ketchup & Mustard?
Farewell Summer...
The summer is officially, officially over and I am very sad about it. I really enjoyed my summer this year. After our six weeks of pool in Las Vegas, I returned home with a new attitude and appreciation for good food, fun with friends, and lots of whatever the h*ck I felt like doing!
Farewell to the following summer activities I kept up this year…
• Driving with the top down
• Tennis with Kendra
• Tennis with Chisolm
• Take Vegas to the park in the middle of the night with Jo-Lin
• Golfing with Kendra (though only once, we had intentions of going more regularly)
• Actually wearing shorts
• Gardening
• Being more active
• Walks with Vegas
• Walks with friends
• Walks.
And, since our furnace has been out of commission (but being replaced as I type by Kevin’s friend, Wendell’s friend, Mr. sweet, old, grunting guy), my wool socks, free Sports Illustrated fleece, and I have definitely been feeling the effects of the end of the summer.
Also, as the fall rolls around, I officially re-immerse myself into pool and my pool playing “life.” Goodbye sunshine. Hello florescent lighting.
Though I will miss the warm summer months, I look forward to an even more successful pool season this year.
Tuls-Adventures
(updates from the weeks prior to follow in a separate posting)
Early Thursday morning,
Chris came over and we began our trip. No road trip would be complete without first stopping at
Sonic. I decided to bring
Douglas along for the ride. Whenever Chisolm travels, he leaves Douglas out for me. He had a swiss mountain dog growing up named Douglas and for Christmas, his mom sent us this one. The crazy thing is there's a tag that says "Douglas" but it's the company that makes him! Anyway, I decided he could be our roving reporter.
Stretchin' our legs in Kansas.
Can you believe the $2.05 gas prices?! Douglas couldn't either.
Next stop, Aggie's (not to be confused with "Angie's") for some food and a giant home brewed root beer. We weren't in any rush.
About 11 hours and 700 miles later, we finally arrived in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. (not before Chris played for us
"You're the Reason God Made Oklahoma" as we rolled into town)
Sandy and Keith Chamberlain of
TulsaPool.com were gracious enough to shack us up in their extra mobile home, conveniently located directly across the street from their own and just a few miles from
Magoo's, where the tournament was held.
As we rolled into town, I immediately (& very excitedly) spotted a
Steak-n-Shake. SWEET! We made a few stops there, along with another favorite that we don't have in Colorado,
Taco Bueno.
Updates on the tournament to be posted on
my pool blog. In the meantime, Chris and I had some fun in Tulsa.
She's originally from Broken Arrow and hadn't been back to visit in about 14 years, so we made our rounds on Friday and visited
her old family home and schools, etc. It's was very cute.
Most of Saturday & Sunday was spent at Magoo's. We did manage to sneak away for a bit on Sunday for some lunch. No visit to Tulsa would be complete without stopping by the famous Knotty Pine BBQ. Yum-ME!!!
Our friends Rachael &
Bonnie took first & second and the two pro qualifiers. Here they are with Douglas.
Our Monday drive back to Colorado was pretty uneventful. A stop by Steak-n-Shake on our way out of town and I was in my pajamas by 8p.m.
We had a blast!
Quick Blog From Tulsa
I know it's been a while but I tried to blog before leaving town and the site was down. Ugh!
I’m currently blogging from Tulsa, OK.
See you when I get back in town!
