Two More Days to PA!
Today was a day of rest. I finally went to the doctor since I still didn't feel like I was fully recovered. I wanted to make sure I would be healthy for the trip. She suspected I have a sinus infection and wrote me a 3-day prescription. I picked up my prescription with another Kakuro book for the tirp and headed home.
I took the day off from practicing today. Tomorrow, I'm meeting my friend
Bonnie at Brooklyns again for one last session before I leave on Wednesday. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO excited!!! I can't wait! I'm currently doing laundry as I type.
Speaking of
Kakuro. It's my latest addiction. I thought
Sudoku was wildly addictive. It's hard for me to do Sudoku now. It hardly seems challenging enough. I love it! It really keeps me relaxed and I get a slight high whenever I complete one. I'm such a nerd.
Anyway, here's the latest blog thing:
Your Personality Profile |
You are sexy, powerful, and bold. You're full of passion and energy... Sometimes this passion has a dark side.
You feel most alive when you're seducing someone. You never fail to get someone's attention. Quick minded, you're also quick to lose your temper! |
What?!... Oh well...
Your Outrageous Name is: |
Ivana C. Cox |
WHAT?!?! Oh my gosh!!! That's totally dirty!!!
Anyway, I may be late on this one because it seems the rest of the world is already hip to him, but I have recently been turned on to Ray LaMontagne. His album Trouble is sensational! Check it out!
Well, that explains it!
Ha! Ha!
I sent the below message to my friend and league director of the
ACS pool league, John:
"I've been a bit under the weather. As you may recall the weather in Colorado, it was 70 degrees on Tuesday, just before it SNOWED yesterday. Yuck! I was just getting better but I think the exposure to the cold yesterday made me feel icky again."
Here was his response:
"Stated like a true pool player! Real pool players spend so much time indoors that their immune systems get lowered and even the slightest exposure to the snow (i.e. becoming allergic to the outdoors) can ruin your health. Stating you're a bit ill from exposure to the cold just further proves your commitment. I'm proud to know you! - John"
Awesome! I've made it! I'm finally a TRUE pool player!
Your Fortune Is |
Man who run behind car get exhausted. |
Less than a week to go...
As you can see, I'm already on tournament schedule. I leave for the Valley Forge
Super Billiards Expo (one of my favorite events of the year) on Wednesday with Chris Byrne (my cue sponsor). It's so weird. I've never had someone just do stuff for me for nothing before. Well, unless they love me. But, this whole "sponsor" concept is very new to me. Don't get me wrong, it's very exciting, but still very foreign. I really lucked out! Chris is incredibly generous and supportive.
Well, when I woke up the other morning, my headache had finally gone away. However, I think I may be getting sick again (ssshhhh... don't tell my mom). Last night, we went to see Shawn Mullins in concert. He hasn't released a solo album in a few years (well, not a good one, at least). It was awesome!!! However, living in Colorado, even though it was 70 degrees on Tuesday, it snowed yesterday and was very cold. So, I think the exposure may have worsened my condition. Well, I don't know. Is that possible? My mom always warned me that it could happen and to stay warm and cover my face & head (especialy when I'm sick)... I'm such a disobedient daughter.
Well, I've been practicing during the day this week vs. my regular 10pm-3am. It's only 3 bucks to practice from noon to 5pm. There's a place in town (30 miles from me, unfortunately) that has the
Diamond Smart Tables. These are the tables the tournament will be played on next week. Coincidentally, they are also the same tables I recently won the BCA 9ball event on. These are, in mine and many others' opinions, by far, THE best playing bar table out there. We have a 9 foot Diamond in Vail and it plays just like a miniature version of it. I'm a bit biased. Anyway, it was good to be back with my good friend the Smart Table again. It's so smart...
Speaking (typing) of which, I should hop in the shower and start getting ready to go.
Ouch!
I've had a headache for the past 32 hours now and it won't go away...
Hopefully, it will be gone when I wake up. It hurts to think about it.
Recent Discovery
I recently discovered one thing that I'm not crazy about with my new short hair... Bad Hair Days!!! I never used to get bed head from a 20 minute nap. Good thing I have plenty of hats.
My onion-less burger was delightful! Juan and I agreed that the fries are not NEARLY as good as In N Out but the burgers are pretty darn close. It's amazing how much of a rip off this place is. Hey! I'm not complaining. Down to the menu, ambiance, way the food is presented, the biggest difference is basically that they offer a triple and a QUAD! Nice! That's what I shoulda ordered.
Anyway, tomorrow, Vegas and I are going to my friend Robbie's for brunch. Chisolm is in Vail for the night, checking on the house. It's still in one piece.
I think a piece of Alfalfa hair is developing as I type...
Old School... Burgers, That Is
Well, let me be the first to officially blog-nounce that
Hikle and Lenny officially broke up the other night. You will have to ask him for the details. I have a lot of mixed feelings about it. I hung out with Hikle last night. We went to
Red Lobster and I ordered my usual Lobster Pizza (which I never think I'm going to order until I see it on the menu. It's just so great the second time around too!). Anyway, I hope this means he'll start blogging again too.
Hikle just called me an hour ago and I'm going to
Old School Burgers (caution, turn speakers down before clicking on link) with him and
Juan. I forgot what
Hatty was doing today. I think he told me yesterday, but I was all doped up on night-time cough medicine.
So, now that I'm back to blogging, I should really get back to doing some other writing as well. I have so many thoughts jotted down of article ideas and stuff like that but I've just had a bad case of writers block. Also, my elblow and shoulder start to bother me when I'm at the computer for too long because I don't have a very ergonomically friendly setup. Anyway, these are all just excuses but it does make me feel OLD though.
Well, I should go get ready. I'll let you know how the burgers are. They're supposed to be as good as
In-N-Out but I'll be the judge of that! (When did I start eating burgers again, anyway? Oh well!)
I'm sick...
Uuuuuuuuuuugh...
Okay, so, I think last week I may have caught what
Hatty was sick as a dog with for a month but I was consistently taking echinacea and really didn't think it was going to get any worse. Well, I don't know what happened tonight, but I am absolutely MISERABLE!!!
Tonight at league, this guy called Jack passed out. He's diabetic and I think his blood sugar was low. Ineterestingly enough, that's about the third person I've seen either during a tournament or league that collapsed from that.
Bonnie said he was twitching around after he fell. We both rushed over to make sure he was okay, and were amazed at how many people were just trying to get back to their pool games. Pool players?! He's okay. The paramedics came and carried him off.
Anyway, I'm just having some
chicken noodle soup right now while watching some
Family Guy with
Vegas. Think I'm gonna go lay down though. I'll be back soon
UUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH............
I'm alive...
Sorry to be away for so long (again). I can't promise that I'm back for good, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm alive and well.
